A Return to Sisterhood, Rhythm & the Sacred Feminine

There is a quiet remembering happening among women.
In a world that asks us to move faster, do more, and hold everything together, many women feel a deep, unspoken longing. A longing for rest without guilt. For truth without performance. For connection without explanation.
The Red Tent Movement was born from that longing.
It is not a trend. It is a remembrance.
What Is the Red Tent Movement?
The Red Tent Movement is a modern reawakening of ancient women’s gathering spaces. It is the reclamation of circles where women come together to be seen, held, and supported through the natural cycles of life.
At its core, the Red Tent is a sanctuary. A place where women gather to share stories, tend to their bodies and souls, honor the lunar rhythm, and remember the wisdom that lives in their blood and bones.
The name “Red Tent” comes from ancient references to women gathering during their moon time, but the movement itself extends far beyond menstruation. It is about cyclical living, sacred rest, and the power of women in community.
Ancient Roots, Living Lineage
Long before modern calendars and productivity culture, women gathered.
Across civilizations, sacred spaces existed where women could step out of daily responsibilities and into shared wisdom.
In ancient Mesopotamia, women gathered in women’s houses to rest, counsel one another, and pass down knowledge across generations.
In ancient Egypt, women gathered in temple spaces honoring goddesses like Isis and Hathor, celebrating fertility, birth, death, and rebirth as sacred mysteries.
In ancient Greece, women participated in the Thesmophoria, honoring Demeter and the fertile cycles of the Earth, away from the gaze of men.
In Rome, women gathered in festivals honoring Juno, protector of women and childbirth.
And in Biblical references, women withdrew to the “red tent” during their moon time, a space of rest, renewal, and sisterhood.
These were not marginal spaces. They were essential.
The Red Tent Movement is the remembering of these spaces, adapted for the modern woman who still carries ancient wisdom within her.
Why the Red Tent Matters Today
Modern life has disconnected many women from their bodies, their intuition, and each other.
The Red Tent offers a return.
A return to rhythm, where rest is honored.
A return to truth, where vulnerability is sacred.
A return to community, where no woman carries her burdens alone.
Within the Red Tent, women experience:
Healing
Emotional wounds, grief, trauma, and exhaustion are witnessed and gently held. Healing happens not by fixing, but by being seen.
Connection
In a culture of isolation, the Red Tent restores sisterhood. Women remember they are not alone in their experiences.
Ritual
From honoring lunar cycles to marking life transitions, ritual brings meaning, grounding, and reverence back into everyday life.
Self-Discovery
Through meditation, storytelling, embodiment, creativity, and reflection, women reconnect with their inner voice and innate wisdom.
The Red Tent reminds us that we were never meant to do life alone.
The Red Tent Is Not a Place You Go
It Is a Way You Remember
The Red Tent Movement is not about recreating the past exactly as it was. It is about carrying the essence of ancient wisdom into modern life.
It is about women choosing to gather with intention.
Choosing to slow down.
Choosing to listen.
Choosing to remember who they are beneath the roles they play.
