Our Shadows Make Us Whole: An Introduction and Experiential Offering in Shadow Work
From ancient mystical traditions to the 21st century, the concept of shadow has been an integral to personal development and self-actualization.
Shadow work aims to bring these hidden aspects of the self into conscious awareness and integrate them into your personality. It involves self-reflection, self-exploration, and a willingness to confront and accept the less desirable or hidden parts of yourself. This process can be deeply transformative and can lead to personal growth, increased self-awareness, and a more authentic and balanced way of living.
This masterclass will introduce you to 3 distinct models of shadow work:
1. Feeding your Demons by Lama Tsultrim Allione
2. Depth Psychology by Carl Jung
3. Internal Family Systems by Richard Schwartz.
Then, we will explore our shadow sides together, deep diving into parts of ourselves with which we are less familiar--either intentionally due to guilt or shame, or unintentionally, due to adapted coping mechanics and expectations of egocentric society.
After this immersion, we will re-emerge and integrate what we have learned in order to acknowledge, understand, and relate to our shadow selves in increasingly compassionate ways.
The result of shadow work can range from increased self-awareness to new depths of self-love and a more authentic way of life.
Materials: Please bring paper/a journal, something to write with, and a courageously open mind.
This Masterclass is led by Molly (Rudra Priya) a 200-Hour registered yoga teacher (RYT) certified in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR).
